Marijuana and addiction the focus of Science Cafe

UNMC’s Jim Sorrell, M.D., will discuss marijuana and addiction during tonight’s Omaha Science Cafe at the Slowdown.

Dr. Sorrell, associate professor of psychiatry at UNMC, will start his talk at 7 p.m. at the venue at 729 N. 14th St. in Omaha.

Jim Sorrell, M.D.

As a psychiatrist, Dr. Sorrell provides consultation services with a focus on clinical services and research in psychiatric aspects of liver disease, HIV/AIDS, oncology and transplantation.

He also develops telepsychiatry services to help soldiers with issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and substance abuse.

As always, those who attend the Science Cafe should arrive early as free pizza will be provided by the Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures for the first 50 people who arrive.
