Brand resources available to campus

John Anderson of Anderson Signs installs a new sign featuring UNMC’s secondary icon in front of the College of Nursing. Information about appropriate use of the secondary icon and other branding issues is available on the branding resource Web site.

A brand resource Web site is available to assist employees with their communications material and ensure it reflects UNMC’s new brand.

Employees also are invited to attend the Aug. 27-28 communicators’ forums, where participants can learn more about the branding initiative and ask questions.

The branding resource Web site provides a link to the UNMC brand book for guidelines on appropriate use of UNMC’s graphic elements (secondary icon, photography, topography, themeline and color palette) and messaging. Graphic files and templates also are available on the resource site.

Communicators’ forums

Are you a campus communicator? If so, join us to learn more about the branding initiative. Our communicator forums will include information about:

  • Research behind the brand;
  • Key campus messages;
  • Branding tools for your use;
  • Web site roll-out; and
  • Future meetings of the campus communicators group to share resources and ideas.

The forums will be:

  • Thursday, Aug. 27 — 4 to 5 p.m., Eppley Science Hall, Room 3010
  • Friday, Aug. 28 — 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Eppley Science Hall, Room 3010

In the meantime, please visit our brand resource Web site for information and brand tools.

The Web site will evolve as resources and templates are added. Already, the site contains downloadable files of the UNMC wordmark, header bar and campus icon, as well as files for desktop backgrounds and Powerpoint templates. Brochure and newsletter templates are expected soon.

Prior to the campus communicator forums (see sidebar), UNMC Public Relations would like to hear from you. Faculty and staff are invited to post their comments and questions on the branding blog.

Comments and questions posted on the blog will then be answered at the forums.

The blog will continue to be used for discussion and updates on UNMC’s branding efforts in the future.

“The blog is a great resource for faculty and staff to get up-to-date information on the branding initiative and provide feedback,” said Jillian Carson, UNMC marketing specialist, public relations.
