Beginning today, UNMC faculty, staff and students have another lunchtime option.
Local food vendors — Subway and Godfather’s Pizza — will each be on campus twice a month to sell their signature meals.
The on-campus arrangement is made possible through the UNMC Bookstore, Sorrell Center C-Store and Parking Services, said Tina Spencer, manager of the three entities.
Students expressed interest in having an inexpensive, fresh lunch — if just occasionally — for purchase in the Sorrell Center between classes, said Spencer, who plans to bring additional vendors to campus.
Each vendor will sell lunches in the Sorrell Center Student Commons area from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the following dates:
- Second and fourth Tuesdays of each month — Subway ($5 meal deal includes a 6-inch sub, chips and cookie; individual items also available);
- Second and fourth Thursdays of each month — Godfather’s Pizza ($5 meal deal includes one slice of pizza, side salad and cookie; individual items also available).
