Kristina Bailey, M.D., assistant professor in the pulmonary, critical care, sleeo and allergy section of the department of internal medicine, is among the many new faculty members at UNMC.

Name: Kristina Bailey, M.D.

Title: Assistant professor, pulmonary, critical care, sleep and allergy section

Duties: Inpatient pulmonary/critical care rounds, general pulmonary clinic

Research interests: Dr. Bailey studies how alcohol modulates the toll-like receptor 2 in the airway epithelium.

Degree: M.D., UNMC

Residencies and post doctoral training:

• Primary care subinternship, UNMC, 1999-2000;
  
• Internal medicine residency, UNMC, 2000-2003;
  
• Pulmonary and critical care fellowship, UNMC, 2003-2006; and
  
• Post doctoral research fellowship, UNMC, 2006-2008.
