Dental Day 2009

Above is a photo slideshow featuring images from Friday’s Children’s Dental Day event at the College of Dentistry in Linoln. (Photos by Peggy Cain, College of Dentistry)

About 175 Nebraska children from 10 communities received free dental care during the 15th Annual Children’s Dental Day at the College of Dentistry on Friday.

More than $100,000 in services are provided at this one-day event. The children received services such as cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, cavity fillings, education and emergency care as needed.

The UNMC College of Dentistry hosted its first Children’s Dental Day in the fall of 2001. The value of care delivered over the past six years by the UNMC College of Dentistry exceeds $1.5 million.
