Carl Smith, M.D., checks his patient data using Clinical Xpert on his Blackberry device. |
Beginning Jan. 19, Clinical Xpert (CX), formerly known as MercuryMD, will be accessible through Blackberry Smartphone devices.
CX gives the caregiver the ability to sync their patient’s data anywhere. This includes demographics, labs, results, notes, reports, vitals, I & O’s and much more.
In July, CX was made available to Windows and Palm OS Smartphones, as well as PDA’s that had wireless access to the Internet.

“Clinical Xpert is a useful tool while making rounds to be able to check labs, notes and reports, but is even more so when I am at home or away from a computer,” Dr. Smith said.
Blackberry users will need to access CX thru the UNMC/UNMCP Lotus Notes or The Nebraska Medical Center Outlook Exchange Blackberry servers.
Although most devices are supported, the new Blackberry Storm will not be supported at this time, but is expected to be at a future date.
Before purchasing a new device, go to this Web site and click on the “Certified Devices” link to view supported devices.
