Dr. Stoddard named to assistant dean position

Hugh Stoddard, Ph.D., has been named assistant dean for medical education in the College of Medicine, senior associate dean for academic affairs Gerald Moore, M.D., announced Wednesday.

In his new role, Dr. Stoddard will oversee the undergraduate level assessment of students and evaluation of the curriculum. Dr. Stoddard — who has served as director of the college’s curriculum development office since 2004 — also will direct the College of Medicine Curriculum and Educational Research Office of the College of Medicine.

“Dr. Stoddard brings a wealth of expertise to this new position,” Dr. Moore said. “He’s a well-respected analyst of curriculum and he provides a scientific basis for our educational endeavors.”

Dr. Stoddard received his master’s of education degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1998 and his Ph.D. from UNL in 2005. He became an assistant professor in the department of family medicine in 2006.
