The Olson Center — which occupies the entire fourth floor of the Durham Outpatient Center — will house specialists in primary care, OB/GYN, high-risk obstetrics, breast care, dermatology, pain management, physical therapy, infertility, midwifery, incontinence, mental health and menopause management. The 25,000-square-foot facility is double the size of UNMC’s previous OB/GYN clinic.
“This ceremony celebrates a tremendous advance in women’s health in the region,” Dr. Smith said. “No other facility in the region really comes close to what this center will offer.”
The outpatient center was made possible through donations made by Dr. Leland and Dorothy Olson of Omaha.
A UNMC medical school graduate, Dr. Leland Olson is a retired obstetrics and gynecology physician who practiced in Omaha for many years. Dorothy Olson is a graduate of the UNMC College of Nursing.
