Tickets going fast for 10th Annual Cattlemen’s Ball

SIDNEY — Tickets are going fast for the 10th annual Cattlemen’s Ball fundraising event to be held June 2 at Sand Point Cattle Company, LLC, near Lodgepole.

Ticket numbers are limited for the annual fundraiser, held to promote beef in a healthy diet and to showcase rural Nebraska. Most importantly, the event raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer research and local health care issues.

All the money raised will stay in Nebraska with 90 percent of the proceeds going toward ground floor research projects at UNMC’s Eppley Cancer Center. The remaining 10 percent will be directed to health care in western Nebraska.

The highlight of the day will be a sit-down beef dinner, followed by a concert featuring Grammy Award-winning country music artist Jo Dee Messina. Messina has eight No. 1 singles and also has been honored by the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music. Following the concert, patrons will dance the night away to the music of the band High Horses. Numerous events will take place on the grounds throughout the day.

Two ticket levels are available — Trail Boss ($300 each) and Top Hand ($65 each). Both ticket levels include admission to the sit-down dinner, Jo Dee Messina concert, dance and other activities. Trail Boss tickets include preferred seating for dinner and the concert, an evening reception the night before the event and a champagne brunch the morning of the ball.

“The Cattlemen’s Ball is a great bargain,” said Matt Monheiser, general co-chairman for this year’s event. “You’d be hard-pressed to find a better deal that gives you dinner, a concert and a dance for the price of a Cattlemen’s Ball ticket.”

To get tickets, call 800-303-2460. Check the Cattlemen’s Ball Web site for the latest event details, ticket outlets and levels of underwriting opportunity.
