Child safety and the Internet focus of Thursday EAP forum

A lunch and learn program on keeping children safe on the Internet will be held Thursday from noon to one in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater. The program is sponsored by the UNMC Faculty Employee Assistance Program.

Bridget Fitzpatrick, crime prevention specialist with the Omaha Police Department and a recognized expert on Internet/sexual predators, will give the presentation, which is titled “Internet Predators: How to Keep Your Children Safe.”

Bring your lunch and discover signs that indicate your child might be at risk online and what to do if you suspect your child is communicating with a sexual predator on the Internet.

Also learn when your child is Internet ready and how to minimize the chances of an online exploiter victimizing your child.
