Mobile Nursing Center to provide free health screenings

The UNMC College of Nursing-Cosmopolitan Mobile Nursing Center, has partnered with the Omaha Public Library to provide free health screening and education through Aug. 3, for those 19 years of age and older. No appointments are necessary.

Screenings include blood sugar, blood pressure, and colorectal cancer (hemocult card kit, including lab results). In addition, for the low-cost of $10, the public can receive a total and HDL cholesterol screening.

“This is a convenient way to screen people during the summer at libraries near where people live and work,” said Linda Sather, Ed.D., assistant professor of nursing and director of the Mobile Nursing Center.

Co-sponsors of the screenings are Cosmopolitan International, UNMC College of Nursing, Omaha Public Library, UNMC Physicians and The Nebraska Medical Center.
