College of Nursing gets surprise treat during nurses week

Ellen Trumble knew she and her Cosmopolitan-UNMC College of Nursing Mobile Nursing Center colleagues were in for a treat Thursday when Omaha’s KGOR radio called.

The medical center team had won the “Coffee Break for Nurses Week” promotion.

Project nurse for the Mobile Nursing Center, Trumble heard about the contest Thursday on her way to work. KGOR 99.9 FM representatives said they would deliver four free gallons of coffee and two boxes of pastries to the winning recipient. Trumble decided to take a chance and faxed in her entry.

“Winning was a great surprise,” she said. “What a wonderful way to honor the faculty and staff at the College of Nursing.”
