UNMC students celebrate National Primary Care Week Tuesday by distributing Lifesavers candy to employees as a reminder of the importance of wearing seat belts. Of the motorists they encountered in Lots 50 and 15, 81 percent wore their seatbelts. Students also distributed materials on another life-saving measure – organ donation.
The UNMC students represented the medicine, physician assistant and physical therapy programs. Primary care includes internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology and psychiatry.
National Primary Week is an annual event to highlight the importance primary care careers.
