Retired UNMC employee, Sharon Lewis, dies

Retired UNMC employee Sharon Lewis died Sunday (Jan. 11). She was 62.

An administrative tech in cashiering, Lewis joined UNMC in December 1980 and retired this past October.

“Sharon was a really hard worker who hardly ever missed a day of work,” said Tina Spencer, manager of Parking and Cashiering. “She will be missed by many at UNMC, especially her colleagues in the Administration Building.”

Services are Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Living God, 2029 Binney St. Interment is at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation is today (Wednesday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roeder Mortuary, 50th Street and Ames Avenue.

Lewis is survived by three sons, Gregory, Richard and Roger; two daughters, Michelle D. Marinella and Marsha D. Hunter; seven grandsons; and one granddaughter.
