Nebraska Lt. Gov. Dave Heineman told UNMC College of Pharmacy students this week that they are the future leaders of “our state and our country.”

“We need your leadership,” Heineman said. “Young and old alike, we’re going to count on you.”

Heineman was on campus Monday. About 100 students attended a forum featuring Heineman and U.S. Rep. Lee Terry. Both Heineman and Terry offered brief remarks and then answered student questions.

As part of his remarks, Heineman read a proclamation from Gov. Mike Johanns, which recognized National Pharmacy Week and the importance of pharmacists’ work as health-care providers.
