A new employee roundtable series kicks off next week to provide UNMC faculty, staff and students the opportunity to discuss a variety of issues or topics of importance to the UNMC community. The first session will focus on health care access and will involve a discussion with University Medical Associates about what can be done to improve service and accessibility to healthcare providers on campus.
“The topic for this session was based on feedback at a Chancellor’s forum last spring where multiple concerns were raised about the difficulty of accessing healthcare on campus,” said Jane Harris, director, employee relations, Human Resources.
UMA is working to become the healthcare provider of choice for UNMC employees and is interested in hearing what they can do to attract and retain employee and their families as patients, Harris said.
“To accomplish this, UMA needs to hear the challenges employees face and the concerns they have in a constructive and productive format,” she said.
Harris will moderate the session, which will be Tuesday, Oct. 22, from noon to 1 p.m. To reserve your seat at the session, call 559-5827, or e-mail jeharris@unmc.edu. The location will be based on the response of employees. Lunch will be provided. The new employee roundtable series is being co-sponsored by Human Resources and Public Affairs.
