Nominations sought for Outstanding Teacher Awards

The UNMC Faculty Senate is inviting nominations for Outstanding Teacher Awards for 2001-2002. Students or faculty may submit nominations for full-time employees of UNMC who hold a full-time faculty appointment at the rank of instructor, assistant professor, associate professor or professor.

Nomination forms and selection criteria are available through the Faculty Senate Office. Contact Martha Harmon at 559-4457 or e-mail mharmon@unmc.edu. The deadline for nominations is Monday, Feb. 25.

The Outstanding Teacher Awards will be presented at the Annual Faculty Meeting Tuesday, April 9 at 4 p.m. in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater. Service awards for faculty members who have completed 10, 20 and 30 years of service at UNMC also will be given.

At the meeting, UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., will address the faculty and Terry Hexum, Ph.D., professor of pharmacology in the College of Medicine and president of the Faculty Senate, will report on Senate activities during the past year. A reception, hosted by Chancellor Maurer, will follow the meeting at 5 p.m. in University Hospital’s Private Dining Rooms.
