What are the greatest rewards of teaching?
Seeing students succeed and knowing you had a small part in that.
Can you describe a moment in your career when you realized you had picked the right occupation?
Having former students reach out and thank you for all you did to help them achieve their goals. It makes everything worth it.
What are the biggest challenges you face as a teacher?
Being a teacher in higher education is not a 9-to-5 job. It takes a while to find the right work-life balance.
How do you know when you’ve been successful as a teacher?
Success is subjective. There are always going to be new milestones or goals that should be achieved. Even the greatest teacher should still be learning something new every day.
