Children’s Nebraska will hold its inaugural conference on wellness in medicine, “Unlocking Wellness: Sustaining the Healthcare Workforce.”
This in-person conference, to be held Friday, Feb. 28, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., will provide resources and strategies to improve the wellness and resiliency of the health care workforce. It will be at the Scott Conference Center at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Nationally-recognized keynote speaker Sasha Shillcutt, MD, the Dr. Gail Walling Yanney Professor of Anesthesiology at UNMC, will present on “Resilience: The art of failing forward.”
Other topics include:
- Recovering from a clinical error
- Cultivating purpose without overidentifying
- Peer support in the workplace
- Minimizing financial stressors
- Change management
- Tackling technology
- Loneliness and imposter syndrome
- Combating burnout through volunteering
Attendees will have opportunities to practice wellness strategies and develop a plan for cultivating wellness for their teams.
