Guest lecturer to address children’s social media use

Christina Calamaro, PhD

Christina Calamaro, PhD, director of nursing and allied health research and EBP at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, will be the guest speaker for the 12th annual Anna Marie Jensen Cramer Memorial Lectureship in Women’s and Children’s Health and Family Nursing. 

Dr. Calamaro also serves as an associate professor at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University in Atlanta.

She will speak Feb. 20 on the subject of “TikTok is Gone: Use of Social Media in Children and Adolescents.”

The Anna Marie Jensen Cramer Lectureship was established by Berniece Cramer to commemorate the life of her mother, who believed art and science formed the foundation of professional nursing. Berniece Cramer, a graduate of the Mary Lanning School of Nursing in Hastings, was awarded the 1989 U.S. Public Health Service Nurse of the Year for her lifelong contributions toward improving the health status of mothers and children. 

The lecture is presented by the UNMC College of Nursing.

The in-person lecture will be held at Wigton Heritage Center, 528 S. 42nd St. on the UNMC Omaha campus. The presentation also will be available online.
