Breakthrough Thinking with author Falcone is today

UNMC will hold the latest in its Breakthrough Thinking series today (Oct. 28) with a presentation by Mary Lou Falcone, an author and advocate for Lewy body dementia awareness.

Falcone will share her personal story to illustrate her journey as a caregiver for her late husband, Nicky Zann, who died from Lewy body dementia in 2020. Her talk is titled “Here’s Looking at You, Lewy!”

It will be held from noon-1 p.m. in the Sorrell Center, Room 2018. The lecture and Q&A also will be available via Zoom; find the link at the UNMC campus event listing.

Falcone is the author of “I Didn’t See It Coming: Scenes of Love, Loss, and Lewy Body Dementia.” She also is an executive producer of a new documentary film about Lewy body dementia titled “Facing the Wind.”
