Registration is open for University Employee Learning Week events Oct. 21-25, hosted by University of Nebraska human resources departments.
Virtual professional development sessions will be offered throughout the week, and the sessions are open to employees on any University of Nebraska campus.

- Monday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m.– “Elephant, Rider, Path,” with Dave Dechant. Hosted by the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
- Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m.– “Negotiation,” with Scott Benson. Hosted by the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
- Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 10:30 a.m. – “Change: The Only Thing Harder is Staying the Same,” with Anthony Ashby, president of CHI Health Immanuel. Hosted by UNMC. Employees should register for the virtual session or in person, which will be held at the Sorrell Center, Room 1010. A prize drawing will be held for those attending in person.
- Thursday, Oct. 24, asynchronous – “How Past Experiences Shape Our Communication and Decision Making,” with Colleen Huls. Hosted by University of Nebraska Central Administration.
- Friday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. – “Adapting to Change and Managing Work Related Stress,” with Charlie Foster. Hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The HR Employee Development Center of Excellence committee is sponsoring the professional development series for a third year. Sessions are hosted by each campus’ office of human resources.
“Every year, our attendees appreciate the array of topics and the valuable information they received,” said Giovanni Jones, UNMC’s manager for training and development. “We hope UNMC employees are encouraged to take some time for their own professional development.”
