How I fell in love with my specialty: I’ve always been drawn to complex medical fields. Neuro-ophthalmology is a perfect combination of thorough neurological history, comprehensive eye exam and neuro-imaging.

Three things people may not know about me:

I won a bronze medal in an International Academic competition in biology in high school.
I ran a full marathon in Reykjavik, Iceland.
I do not know how to swim.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Balian yesterday and my husband and I was very impressed. He is very thorough and kind and caring and listens to you and explains things well. I would recommend him to family and friends.
