How I fell in love with informatics: I love my corner of informatics because it enables health data to be better connected, which opens up a world of possibilities for public health, research and enhanced patient care. On a personal level, my goal when I started post-secondary school was to find a career where I could be paid to read and write. While that’s not all I get to do nowadays, it’s a larger part of my job responsibilities than I previously thought was possible.
Education:
- PhD in biomedical informatics, UNMC
- MS in management information systems, University of Nebraska at Omaha
Memberships:
- American Medical Informatics Association
- American Statistical Association
Three things people may not know about me:
- I love cats.
- I hate snakes.
- My favorite author is Willa Cather, and not just because I’m from Nebraska.
Wonderful to have you join the faculty. Looking forward to more great work!
Congratulations Jarrod! I’m so proud of you! It was a while ago you first started working in UNMC Ophthalmology. You followed your dream!
