Summer at UNMC: NE-INBRE Scholars welcomed to campus

The summer 2024 INBRE Scholars

This summer, the Nebraska Institutional Development Award Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (NE-INBRE) program welcomed a new cohort of undergraduate students from across Nebraska as they embark on their summer research experience.

These NE-INBRE Scholars will spend 10 weeks over the summer conducting research at UNMC, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln or Creighton University and go back to their home campuses in the fall ready to continue their laboratory research.

The NE-INBRE program is overseen by Paul Sorgen, PhD, a professor in the UNMC Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and principal investigator of the $16.2 million National Institutes of Health grant that supports the program.

“It’s always exciting to welcome a new cohort of NE-INBRE scholars to UNMC and the program,” Dr. Sorgen said. “We have exciting research opportunities to offer them, and I look forward to seeing the work they produce this summer.”
