UNMC and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering will hold a workshop June 20-21 on heart sounds and artificial intelligence, “The Future of Heart Sounds for Diagnosing Heart Diseases in the Age of AI.”
The workshop will provide an opportunity for researchers and practitioners in heart sounds and AI to learn and collaborate on using new technologies and machine learning in their fields. It is designed for physicians in the specialty of cardiology, scientists, academic researchers and hardware and software engineers.
The workshop will help participants:
- Describe the role of AI in health care.
- Discover techniques and instruments utilizing AI to aid cardiology patients.
- Discuss the advancements in the analysis of heart sounds for diagnosing heart disease.
On Thursday, June 20, an optional session will be held to offer a pre-workshop AI tutorial, tour and reception. That session is scheduled to run from 2-6:15 p.m. at the Sorrell Center, Room 1005.
The heart sounds and AI workshop is scheduled for Friday, June 21 at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, Room 0.12.103. It will run from 7:30 a.m.-5:45 p.m.
