The University of Nebraska Board of Regents has scheduled a meeting for Friday, April 26, for potential consideration of the priority candidate’s appointment as the next president of the NU System.
Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, the current executive vice president and provost of the University of Nebraska System and chancellor of UNMC, is undergoing the enhanced public scrutiny process as the priority candidate pursuant to state statute. The board will meet on Friday at 1 p.m. at Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege St. in Lincoln.
Dr. Gold will be participating in a final series of public forums on Wednesday, April 24:
- 10:30 a.m. CT – Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, auditorium, Ag Industry Education Center, 404 E. 7th St., Curtis
- 1:30 p.m. CT – West Central Research, Extension and Education Center, 402 West State Farm Road, North Platte
- 3 p.m. MT – Panhandle Research, Extension and Education Center, 4502 Avenue I, Scottsbluff
The board will continue to accept feedback on Dr. Gold’s candidacy through Thursday, April 25, via the president search website. Members of the university community and public are encouraged to continue submitting feedback.
While the regents meeting allows for the consideration of the president priority candidate’s appointment, no action will be taken until all feedback received has been reviewed.
