iLEAD program accepting applications for 2025-2026 cohort

To become better equipped as leaders in a world of increasingly complex challenges, UNMC faculty are encouraged to apply for the 2025-2026 cohort of UNMC Faculty Development’s iLEAD (Interprofessional Leadership for Excellence and Academic Development) certificate program.

See program details, including continuing education credit information, at this link. The application period runs through Sept. 1. Participants will be selected by Jan. 1, 2025, and the program will launch in the fall 2025.

The iLEAD program has longstanding success in developing interdisciplinary leaders across UNMC.

“We all benefit when we have strong, confident, calm, insightful and creative leaders,” said Rebekah Gundry, PhD, chair of the UNMC Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology and 2023 iLEAD graduate. “iLEAD presents an opportunity to grow better leaders and provides a unique opportunity for those who may not see themselves as leaders to become comfortable and effective in leadership roles.”

iLEAD is a one-year applied-learning experience designed to accelerate leadership skill and potential for UNMC faculty. Two overnight experiences and monthly in-person seminars with a diverse array of speakers provide an immersive learning environment and a rich opportunity for collaboration and growth.

Kyle Meyer, PhD, dean of the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions and an iLEAD class of 2000 graduate, said that “in addition to the excellent content on leadership, the program significantly increased my understanding of the structure and functions of UNMC and introduced me to a network of colleagues that have remained a tremendous resource throughout my leadership journey.”

Interested faculty must complete an online application, including letters of support, and commit to the full schedule of in-person meeting dates upon acceptance.
