Omaha Performing Arts is offering discounts on tickets to UNMC students and employees for upcoming select shows.

- Disney’s “The Lion King,” Feb. 29-March 24. Save 10% on price levels 2 and 3 (yellow or blue seats) for weeknights and Sunday evening performances, plus reduced handling fees for all price levels and performances. More than 100 million people have experienced Disney’s “The Lion King,” and now the musical returns to the Orpheum. Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, this landmark musical brings together one of the most imaginative creative teams on Broadway. Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor brings to life a story filled with hope and adventure set against a backdrop of stunning visuals. It also features some of Broadway’s most recognizable music, crafted by Tony Award-winning artists Elton John and Tim Rice.
- Kathy Tyree, March 8. Save 10%, plus reduced handling fees. Known as “Omaha’s Own Queen of Soul,” Tyree graces the Holland Music Club for a special performance. An evening of exciting and flawlessly performed music will have the audience reminiscing, singing and dancing. Tyree will share selections from a mixture of genres and eras, accompanied by the Quincy Crouch Band led by Ananias “Markey” Montague.
- FLIP Fabrique: Blizzard, April 2. Save 10% and reduced handling fees. With Blizzard, FLIP Fabrique takes a crazy, poetic and gentle journey in the dead of winter and invites the audience into a moment of complete wonder, with performers at the peak of their art and outstanding visual poetry. FLIP Fabrique brings a fresh take on contemporary circus, coupled with an uncanny ability to have fun and move an audience.
- TAIKOPROJECT, April 6. Save 10% and reduced handling fees. TAIKOPROJECT has astonished audiences worldwide since 2000 with its unique blend of traditional taiko drumming and innovative aesthetics. Percussive power, dynamic music and graceful choreography weave a gorgeous narrative.
- Marcos Eduardo’s Latino Music Explosion, April 12. Save 10%, plus reduced handling fees. Four singers, two guitars, bass, drums, keys, two dancers, percussion. Groove to the sounds and rhythms of the cumbia, bachata, norteño and other popular music from Latin America performed by some of South Omaha’s finest musicians.
- “Pretty Woman: The Musical,” April 16-21. Save 10% on price level 2 and 3 (blue or yellow seats) for weeknight and Sunday evening performances, plus reduced handling fees for all price levels. Based on one of Hollywood’s most beloved romantic stories of all time, “Pretty Woman: The Musical” springs to life with a powerhouse creative team led by two-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray, Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde). It features an original score by Grammy winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance (“Summer of ’69”, “Heaven”).
