Papillion private practice clinic to become part of Nebraska Medicine

Premier Family Medicine will become the Papillion Health Center on March 1, when it joins the Nebraska Medicine Health Network.

Nebraska Medicine announced that effective Friday, March 1, Premier Family Medicine in Papillion will join the Nebraska Medicine Health Network.

Open since 2014, Premier Family Medicine is owned by Jeffry Strohmyer, MD, who is board-certified in family medicine. His associate of 24 years, Stacie Spiehs Gilroy, a certified physician assistant, specializes in women’s health, geriatric care and all aspects of family medicine.

“My greatest love of family medicine is the relationship I build with families,” Dr. Strohmyer said. “Even with the fragmentation of medicine today, I have been able to truly practice family medicine in the sense that I take care of families. I am now caring for the children of babies that I took care of 30 years ago. I tell my students I don’t need a computer to know the history of many of my patients.”

Located at 249 Olson Drive (near 84th St. and Highway 370) in Papillion, Premier Family Medicine serves an estimated 9,000 patients and has served as a needed and trusted source for health care in the Papillion community.

On March 1, the primary care clinic will become Nebraska Medicine Papillion Health Center. Its team of eight currently are being enrolled as Nebraska Medicine employees and will have their years of service honored.

“I believe Nebraska Medicine will be a tremendous asset to my patients,” Dr. Strohmyer said. “Not only with the resources available and the excellence of practice, I believe it will open doors to quality care and many specialties that may be difficult for independent physicians to obtain.”

Dr. Strohmyer is a graduate of the UNMC College of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and an active member of the Metro Omaha Medical Society and the Nebraska Medical Association. He and his wife, Lisa, have lived in Papillion since 1991, and are proud of their four adult children.

“Papillion is a wonderful community,” Dr. Strohmyer said. “There are many retired military members here, which gives me great satisfaction. Their integrity and dedication are something I admire, and I’m very proud to be part of this community.”

“Dr. Strohmyer, Stacie and their care team have a strong connection to the Papillion area and are focused on providing excellent service to their patients and local community,” said Tom Macy, vice president of operations for Nebraska Medicine. “We are excited to welcome Premier Family Medicine to our primary care family and look forward to increasing access to trusted providers with high-quality primary care to patients within our community.”

“I am excited about the future with Nebraska Medicine to allow me more time to focus on patient care and quality,” Dr. Strohmyer said.
