Nursing faculty to be honored at annual UNMC faculty meeting

Twelve UNMC College of Nursing faculty members will be acknowledged for their years of service at this year’s UNMC Annual Faculty Meeting on April 16. 

Faculty completing 30 or 40 years of service will be honored with brief presentations.  Faculty completing 10 and 20 years of service will be recognized during the meeting. Faculty completing five years of service will receive a certificate and letter of congratulations from the Senate.

CON faculty with service awards this year are:

Diane Brage Hudson, PhD – 40 years

Wendy Wells – 20 years

Jenelle Kolterman – 5 years

Diane McMurray, EdD – 5 years

Brittany Schlueter – 5 years

Bridget Thoene – 5 years

Lynne Masters – 5 years

Windy Alonso, PhD – 5 years

Kelly Betts, EdD – 5 years

Kelly Buchanan – 5 years

Melissa Florell, PhD – 5 years

Heidi Gubanyi – 5 years

Additionally, Lisa Walters, clinical assistant professor for the UNMC College of Nursing – Northern Division, will accept a UNMC Outstanding Teacher Award at the ceremony.

The Annual Faculty Meeting begins at 3 p.m. in person in the UNMC Durham Research Center I and via Zoom. The agenda includes UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD’s annual address to faculty and a recap of UNMC Faculty Senate activities during the 2023-24 academic year.

Following the meeting, awardees will be honored at a reception in the Durham Research Center atrium.
