Retirement reception for two nursing leaders is Jan. 29

The retirement reception for two longstanding faculty members and leaders in the UNMC College of Nursing has been rescheduled to Jan. 29.

Kathryn Fiandt, PhD, and Louise LaFramboise, PhD, recently retired from UNMC, and the med center community is invited to attend the reception. It will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. CT on the Omaha campus in the Sorrell Center’s Truhlsen Events Center. Public remarks will begin at 5 p.m.

The event originally was scheduled for Jan. 8 but was rescheduled due to weather.

Dr. Fiandt, PhD, served as the Kenneth E. Morehead Endowed Chair in Nursing, a clinical professor and associate dean of transformational practice and partnership in the college. She started at UNMC in 1993 and later left for seven years before returning in 2014 as associate dean.

Dr. LaFramboise served as an associate professor and assistant dean of the UNMC College of Nursing-Omaha Division. She joined the UNMC faculty in 1986.

Together, Drs. Fiandt and LaFramboise served the UNMC College of Nursing community for more than 60 years.
