Each year through a competitive application process, the UNMC Office of E-Learning awards faculty and student teams for the creation of digital, interactive modules. The 13 teams selected for 2023-24 were recognized at the E-Learning Awards Meeting in November. The projects will receive funding provided by the senior vice chancellor for academic affairs.
“The program offers a unique opportunity for students and faculty to work together alongside our e-learning instructional design and technology experts to ensure engaging digital materials are integrated into UNMC’s curriculum,” said Peggy Moore, director of e-learning and assistant professor in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions.
Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dele Davies, MD, congratulated the awardees. “This newest e-learning cohort continues a rich and unique tradition at UNMC of faculty and students working together to create engaging educational modules that enhance understanding of potentially challenging subject matter as well as enriching the educational experience. I congratulate all the individuals who were selected this year, and I am excited to see the final projects.”
The 2023-24 cohort features 60 faculty, staff, students, residents and fellows from seven colleges and the Munroe-Meyer Institute. The new awardees join a group of nearly 700 individuals who already have participated in the E-Learning Funded Awards Program and created more than 290 e-modules, most of which are available on the UNMC E-Gallery.
Teams will demonstrate the new e-modules at the e-learning showcase scheduled for April 2024. To learn more about the services offered by the Office of E-Learning, email or call 402-559-8251.
