Editor’s note: Due to unseasonably warm weather, the ice rink will not open for skating until 5 p.m. today (Dec. 8). Hot chocolate will still be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. The donation drive for Nebraska Medicine pediatric patients will still be accepting donations at the event.
The UNMC Ice Rink opens today. What better way to celebrate than by hosting the eighth annual Holiday Skate Day for UNMC students and employees?
Strap on some skates, do a few laps around the UNMC Ice Rink to the tune of favorite holiday classics and enjoy some hot chocolate (while supplies last), from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Ice rink admission is free for all UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees and students with a valid ID badge.
The UNMC Ice Rink, which officially opens today, will remain open through Feb. 11
Hours of operation are:
- Mondays and Thursdays: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-8 p.m.
- Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (intramurals scheduled evenings)
- Fridays and Saturdays: 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
- Sundays: 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
