How I fell in love with medical imaging and machine learning: Coming from a computational background, I always ask myself what I can do to benefit people’s lives. When I first discovered the field of medical imaging, I was immediately fascinated by its vital role in disease diagnosis. With the advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning, I quickly realized the immense power of these technologies in the field of medical imaging. By leveraging machine learning and medical imaging, we can develop highly accurate models that enable early detection, predict disease prognosis and optimize treatment outcomes, ultimately leading to personalized medicine and improved patients’ lives. My passion for the intersection of medical imaging and machine learning has deepened as I continue to explore new ways to apply these technologies and make a positive impact on people’s health.

Education:

  • BS in telecommunications engineering, Wuhan University
  • PhD in medical imaging and machine learning, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences
  • Postdoctoral researcher, Chinese University of Hong Kong
  • Postdoctoral researcher, Hong Kong Polytechnic University
  • Postdoctoral researcher, University of Pennsylvania

Three things people might not know about you:

  • I love watching women’s volleyball and have played the sport during my high school and undergraduate years.
  • I am passionate about cooking dishes from different cultures.
  • I practice meditation regularly to rejuvenate myself.
