Matthew Dale, MD, PhD, is a new faculty member at UNMC.

  • Name:  Matthew Dale, MD, PhD
  • Hometown: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
  • Current positions at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine: Assistant professor, Division of General Surgery, Department of Surgery, UNMC College of Medicine; general surgeon, Nebraska Medicine

Education:

  • MD/PhD, UNMC
  • Residency, Creighton University

Clinical interests:

  • Hernias
  • Gallbladder disease
  • Appendicitis

Professional memberships:

  • American College of Surgeons
  • Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons

What I love most about patient care: As a general surgeon, I love the breadth of diseases that I treat, as well as the immediacy with which I can provide relief. With surgery, many of the problems I treat are structural in nature, and if I am able to remove or correct that malfunctioning structure, I can provide relief to patients quickly.

Three things people may not know about me:

  • I’m originally from South Dakota but now am a permanent Omaha resident.
  • I love to spend time with my two crazy kids when not working.
  • I try to keep my hands busy by fixing up my old house or building something in my spare time.

Clinic location: Bellevue Medical Center Medical Office Building, 2510 Bellevue Medical Center Drive, Suite 150. General surgery clinic Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

For appointments: 402-552-2440
