Seminar offers steps to create a nursing leadership philosophy

Thoughtful nursing leaders are essential to help navigate the ongoing evolution of health care. A fundamental component of leading is being able to explain the “why” behind one’s leadership thoughts, behaviors and actions.

The Nebraska Collaborative of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing will present the professional development seminar “Four Steps to Create Your Nursing Leadership Philosophy.”

This interactive session will guide participants through a framework designed to assist nursing leaders at all stages – novice to expert – as they start uncovering their nursing leadership philosophy, which is a reflective explanation of core values, mindset, leadership style and real-life experiences.

The event, which is open to any nurse or nursing student, will offer the skills for nursing leaders to adapt their leadership philosophy as their careers change.

It will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, from 6-8 p.m. CT at the UNMC College of Nursing-Omaha, Room CNS 3030. A dinner, which is available for purchase, will be held starting at 5 p.m.

Additional details, including costs, satellite locations, continuing education information and registration link, are available at this seminar website and informational flier.

This activity is being jointly provided by Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development and the following Sigma Theta Tau International chapters of Nebraska: Tau Tau, Gamma Pi At-Large, Iota Tau, Omicron Epsilon, Theta Omega, Alpha Alpha Zeta and Nu Rho At-Large.
