The symposium is geared towards researchers, clinicians and scholars who implement and study chronic illness solutions as well as community members interested in learning more about how research informs solutions for them.
Learning objectives include articulating how clinical research impacts chronic illness management in communities and identifying strategies for community engagement in clinical research studies.
Administered within the UNMC College of Nursing, CRISP is an interdisciplinary community of faculty, students and experts from clinical and academic backgrounds, along with community members whose work and interests focus on the prevention and self-management of chronic illness including cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.
The May 17 symposium is presented by CRISP’s Community Engagement and Scholarship Core, led by Linda Smith, PhD, UNMC College of Nursing clinical assistant professor, and co-chaired by community leader Carolyn T. (C.T) Williamson.
