New resident spotlight: Branden Chamberlin

Branden Chamberlain is a new resident physician with the UNMC Department of Anesthesiology.

Medical School: Creighton University School of Medicine

Why did you choose the medical field? I chose medicine because I felt that pursuing this field was the best way I could make a positive impact on peoples’ lives.

What made you choose anesthesiology? I chose anesthesiology because it is a unique specialty that blends  physiologic and pharmacologic knowledge with challenging procedures.

List three accomplishments you are proud of:

  • Graduating medical school.
  • Presenting research at two American Society of Anesthesiologists national conferences.
  • Serving as an assistant coach for the Creighton Club Hockey team while in medical school.

List three things about you that others may not know:

  • I have Situs Inversus Totalis, so all my organs are mirrored to the opposite side of my body.
  • I play hockey in my free time.
  • I am a huge Creighton Bluejays basketball fan – Roll Jays!
