Kaili Jorgens is a new resident physician with the UNMC Department of Anesthesiology.
Medical School: University of Nebraska College of Medicine
Why did you choose the medical field? I grew up initially wanting to be a vet but realized in high school how rewarding it is to connect with and help people. I was drawn to the human side of medicine and the ability to build relationships and make a difference in people’s lives.
What made you choose anesthesiology? It’s the perfect combination of being hands-on, fast-paced, and requiring critical thinking—all things which mesh perfectly with my personality and desires for a career. Also, the people within the field have been so supportive and amazing to learn from.
