Students from the UNMC Omaha campus will host UNMC’s inaugural Out of the Darkness Campus Walk on Saturday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at the Ruth & Bill Scott Student Plaza.

Each spring, colleges and universities throughout the U.S. gather for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Campus Walks.

Students, faculty and staff from UNMC, Nebraska Medicine and Clarkson College are invited to form or join a team at this link.

This event is open to anyone affected by suicide. The goal is to raise awareness and funds, to strongly send the message that suicide can be prevented and to stress that no one is alone.

For more about the Out of the Darkness Campus Walks, see this video from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
