Spring break is around the corner, so check out the events and activities that UNMC’s community partners have available.
The Durham Museum
At the Durham Museum, embark on a dramatic adventure to Antarctica – one of the most isolated and dangerous environments on Earth – and dig into a breathtaking discovery: dinosaurs. Antarctica today can be a harsh land of ice and snow; “Antarctic Dinosaurs” reveals the lush habitat it once was 200 million years ago and the unique animals that called it home.
Visitors will learn about rare dinosaurs and the history of the continent, with real fossils and engaging interactives.
The Durham Museum provides free museum admission for UNMC faculty, staff, students and their immediate family with a valid identification badge.
Fontenelle Forest
At Fontenelle Forest, grab your binoculars and join a naturalist-guided hike through the wetlands in search of Pileated Woodpeckers and migratory birds making their way through the forest in the early spring. Registration and more information are available at this link.
