The UNMC College of Nursing, in collaboration with the UNMC College of Public Health’s Center for Preparedness and Emergency Response Solutions, will launch its spring 2025 cohort of the Psychological First Aid and Whole Wellness Program on Jan. 28.
The free 10-week series, designed for registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses, will promote wellness among health care professionals.
Participants will meet biweekly through April 29, connecting with experts and peers to build skills for reducing stress and improving overall wellness. The program is supported by a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The fall 2024 cohort, which concluded in December, brought together health care workers from various organizations across Nebraska. Participants included CEOs, chief nursing officers, facility directors, social workers, human resources personnel and registered nurses.
Those involved praised the program’s impact. “I cannot thank you enough for this fabulous opportunity,” one participant said. “I am a changed nurse after being part of the PFA and small group experience.” Another said, “This was such a great experience!”
