On Friday, Dec. 6, lanes of traffic on Saddle Creek Road and Leavenworth Street will return to their proper lanes. The streets have been under construction, with various traffic lane restrictions, since spring while the City of Omaha has made improvements.
Construction crews will open one lane (curb lane) of traffic in all directions as work continues on the sidewalks, islands and medians.
Motorists also should note that:
- In mid-January, 46th Street – from Farnam Street south until it meets 48th and Jones Streets – will open to traffic.
- Once temperatures stay below 32 F, the contractor will pause concrete work until spring, including work at the intersection of Saddle Creek Road and Emile Street. All lanes of traffic will remain open until construction resumes in the spring. At that time, only the southbound curb will be closed while work is completed.
