Research study spotlight: Forward Psoriasis Registry

Group of five young people smiling

UNMC researchers are seeking participants for a national research study on psoriasis called the Forward Psoriasis Registry.

The goal of this research study, led by Sarah Lonowski, MD, is to better understand how psoriasis impacts patients. Researchers will examine therapy effectiveness and satisfaction from the patient perspective and identify risk factors for the development of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and psoriatic arthritis among patients with psoriasis.

Forward is a non-profit organization that studies psoriasis and other rheumatic diseases. This study involves no drugs or treatment, only questionnaires. This information is used by researchers worldwide who study the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of psoriasis, including satisfaction with treatments and development of risk factors for long-term outcomes such as cardiovascular disease.

Participants in the study will complete a baseline questionnaire and follow up questionnaires every six months or as needed for sub-studies.

To be eligible for the study, participants must

  • Have psoriasis
  • Be 19 years or older
  • Be English-speaking
