College of Public Health to host research expo

The UNMC College of Public Health will present the Fourth Annual Midwest Public Health Innovation and Research Expo (PHIRE) on Friday, Oct. 25, at the Maurer Center for Public Health. A full schedule of speakers will share their research, current endeavors and timely scholarly activities.

The guest speaker will be Svetla Slavova, PhD, a professor of biostatistics at the University of Kentucky whose research highlights analytical approaches to understanding and combating the opioid epidemic.

Other schedule highlights include:
  • Speakers from Creighton University’s Institute for Population Health and CyncHealth
  • Research poster session
  • College of Public Health Innovation Fund awardees to provide updates
  • Student research
  • Breakfast and lunch provided
