UNMC Human Resources will be hosting an Employee Appreciation pop-up event for the UNMC Omaha campus on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Center for Healthy Living. This event is sponsored by the UNMC Chancellor’s Office.

“We held our first-ever Employee Appreciation Day event back in March and received such positive feedback from staff and leadership that we decided this should occur quarterly rather than just one a year,” said Linda Cunningham, interim executive director of UNMC Human Resources.

“These events are designed to show our appreciation to employees by providing them an opportunity to enjoy a snack, engage in fun activities and connect with their colleagues in a relaxed and welcome environment. We believe that regularly celebrating our employees fosters a sense of community and belonging and contributes to a positive workplace culture at UNMC, where we genuinely value all employees and their contributions.”

All UNMC employees are encourages to attend this quarter’s pop-up, which will feature carnival games, line dancing, a popcorn station, The Brownie Bar food truck, DonutNV food truck, prizes and more. Food and prizes will be while supplies last.

UNMC leaders – Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD; Anne Barnes, UNMC vice chancellor for business, finance and business development and interim University of Nebraska vice president and chief financial officer; and Jane Meza, PhD, interim vice chancellor of UNMC Academic Affairs – will share words of encouragement and thanks beginning at 3:40 p.m.

Volunteers are needed for the event. Those interested in volunteering are asked to complete this form.

In addition to the in-person Omaha campus event, all employees will be able to participate in an online carnival word search for a chance to win People Are Everything points. The word search will be posted in an article next Thursday in UNMC Today. Appreciation packages with giveaway items will be sent to other UNMC campuses.
