Hispanic Heritage Month campus event Friday

Raíces de México, a traditional dance troupe, will perform at the event Friday.

UNMC and Nebraska Medicine will mark Hispanic Heritage Month on Friday, Oct. 11, with an event featuring live music and a food truck.

The Hispanic Heritage Celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Durham Research Center green space. The UNMC campus community is invited to attend.

Featured performances will include:

11 a.m.-Noon: Raíces de México, a traditional dance troupe; and

Noon-1 p.m.: Mariachi Los Galleros, a mariachi band.

A food truck from Maria Bonita restaurant will be at the event. Food will be available for free to the first 50 attendees and then available for purchase.
