Virtual event will discuss mental health support for cancer patients

Elizabeth Farrell, behavior health director with Thrive Collaborative Care, PC, will present a discussion on “Enhancing Mental Health Support for Cancer Patients” at the next Olson Center Brown Bag. 

For individuals going through cancer treatment, their physical health often receives most of the attention. Farrell will address the question of their mental health, explaining the importance of supporting the psychological well-being of cancer patients and their caregivers and the critical role mental health plays in this journey.

The virtual event will be Tuesday, Oct. 15, from noon to 1 p.m. To attend, register either through Engage, email the Olson Women’s Health Resource Center or call 402-559-6345.

The Zoom link will be emailed to registrants before the event. 

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by University of Nebraska Medical Center and Olson Center for Women’s Health. University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the health care team. The University of Nebraska Medical Center designates this activity for 1.0 ANCC contact hour. Nurses should only claim credit for the actual time spent participating in the activity. This is a free event and open to the community. Nursing credit is available for $15.
