Dr. Fadul named college’s associate dean for faculty affairs

Nada Fadul, MD, has been named the associate dean for faculty affairs in the UNMC College of Medicine, effective Nov. 1.

In making the announcement, UNMC College of Medicine Dean Bradley Britigan, MD, said Dr. Fadul will oversee development, personnel actions and policy issues for UNMC College of Medicine faculty.

“Dr. Fadul is an outstanding leader and will play an important role in helping support and retain our talented faculty in their professional growth and development at UNMC,” Dr. Britigan said. “We are fortunate to have her breadth of leadership, expertise and engagement within the college and the dean’s office.”

In her new role, Dr. Fadul’s duties include dean’s office oversight and coordination for promotion and tenure processes, faculty development programs, faculty appointment and retention, faculty and leadership evaluation, mediation of faculty concerns and oversight of college governance processes. She will collaborate with the Faculty Council, college and university leadership, and health system partners to develop and/or implement initiatives pertaining to faculty well-being and success.

A native of Wad Medani, Sudan, Dr. Fadul joined UNMC in September 2018. She also serves as professor in the division of infectious diseases and medical director of the Specialty Care Center.
